SHC Welcome Workshops

SHC  Welcome Workshops introduce valuable community resources to refugees and newcomers and to encourage participants to return to their local library to access technology, check out books, and attend children's programs. 

During Summer 2022, Welcome Workshops are held in person at the New Carrollton Library branch of the Prince George's Memorial Library on Wednesdays while SHC classes are in session.  

Recent Welcome Workshop presenters have included: Risk Reduction Coordinator from the Prince George's County Fire Department; Prince George's County Sherriff's Department; Prince George's County Schools International Student Enrollment Office; Prince George's County Memorial Library System; Refugee Mental Health Coordinator: Maryland State Department of Health.
