How much does it cost to take English with SHC?

SHC classes are free! SHC does not charge tuition and provides a book and materials to students free of charge. Books and materials must be picked up by the student from the SHC office in Riverdale. If a student is unable to pick up their book and materials please contact SHC staff.

How can I volunteer with SHC?

The first step is to complete our Volunteer Application. After submitting it, you will receive an email from us with next steps. If you have questions about volunteering or the process, please reach out to volunteers@shconnections.org.

Do I need special skills to volunteer with SHC?

The only requirement to volunteer as an SHC tutor is that you are a fluent English speaker. Many SHC volunteer opportunities require orientation, training, and a background check. Please contact volunteers@shconnections.org with any questions.

How do I join SHC English classes?

The first step to join our English classes is to fill out the SHC “Get Help” form on our website. We will contact you to schedule a placement assessment to determine which English class is the right one for you.
