Since its inception in 2017, Solutions in Hometown Connections (SHC) has been dedicated to providing steadfast programs and solutions tailored for refugee and immigrant families. Our focus shines brightly on wives, mothers, and daughters, who often encounter hurdles in accessing English programs and workforce opportunities compared to their male counterparts. Through SHC's comprehensive offerings, families are enveloped in an inclusive community, fostering growth and integration.

Community Connections & Events
Multi-gen English Classes & Tutoring
Navigating language and cultural challenges, especially for mothers, is at the core of our family-friendly approach. SHC's unique multi-generational English program is thoughtfully designed to cater to those who face cultural obstacles, limited literacy, childcare constraints, and transportation difficulties. We understand the nuances and craft our programs to facilitate effective learning.
Early Childhood Education
Our Early Childhood Education initiative is purpose-built to enrich the learning journey of young children aged 2-5, hailing from households where English is not the primary language. With classes conducted both in-person and online, we create a nurturing space where children learn and grow alongside their mothers, fostering a supportive environment for educational exploration.
Citizenship Preparation
SHC's Citizenship Preparation program prepares students for the Naturalization interview with confidence and competence. Our curriculum offers two class levels: Beginning Citizenship introduces essential vocabulary and concepts, while Citizenship Preparation takes participants through every aspect of the interview process, ensuring they are fully equipped for success.
