Little Free Libraries and Story Times

Since 2018 SHC has partnered with local school groups to design and install Little Free Library boxes at apartment locations where large numbers of SHC families live.

Student volunteer groups plan, design and build the Little Free Library; SHC helps to coordinate the installation and plans regular storytimes throughout the school year so that the student groups can return to stay connected with the communities.

Student initiated projects have included warm clothing drives for families who join storytimes, bake sales to raise awareness about refugee families in our area, and book collections to make sure the SHC Little Free Libraries are always stocked with books.
