  • The Interfaith Works (IW) Vocational Services Program (VSP) provides comprehensive, individualized support for people who have limited income and who may have experienced homelessness. Such support can include help with resume preparation, job searches, employment applications, and interview preparation.

  • The Asian American Center of Frederick (AACF) offers a community health worker (CHW) training program that is designed specifically for individuals looking to work in the field of community healthcare advocacy for the first time, as well as those already established in the field and looking to up-skill.

    This program aims to:

    • Strengthen the public health workforce with new or enhanced curricula

    • Increase CHW and health support worker employment readiness through a network of partnerships

    • Advance health equity and support for underserved communities

    • Reduce health disparities and increase access to care and prevention services for COVID-19 and other public health emergencies in underserved communities

  • A Wider Circle’s Career Support Program serves job seekers and others along their career journey by providing holistic support, focusing on the whole person and partnering with them to translate their unique strengths, skills, and passions to work that generates energy and enough income to live comfortably in our region. Career Support clients can participate in a variety of professional development and career advancement activities.
    Individuals can also engage with the rest of A Wider Circle’s Career Support Network, made up of other job seekers, A Wider Circle staff, and volunteers.

    Their services include: resume and cover letter assistance, online job application support, interview preparation, individual career counseling, professional coaching, specialized workshops and professional networking.

    To get started with Career Support and receive assistance, please fill out their Career Support Onboarding Form which can be found HERE. After submitting the form, a member of their team will be in touch with you within a few business days to direct you to the appropriate next step.

    If you experience any difficulty completing the form, feel free to call their main number (301-608-3504) and ask for a Career Support team member. Their services can be delivered in-person, over the phone, or virtually (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.) based on your preference and convenience.
